I don't post as much on here as I would like, but to be honest, it's not really my thing. As a millennial you would expect that I am constantly posting online, liking, sharing and retweeting everything all my friends and family post.

It just isn't me.

I do however think that social media can be used as a great tool to help people in need, and spread awareness for certain things.

That is why today I am posting this. Close friends of ours, and a great family within the community, are enduring a difficult time right now. Their 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia on Friday August 12, and she is currently undergoing treatment.

We are running a fundraiser to help this family out with hope that they can solely focus on their daughters recovery and not worry about bills piling up.  If you click on the link, it will direct you to our Facebook page, with all the details listed. https://www.facebook.com/events/1217078811670146/

If you are able to help in any way, please contact us through our Facebook page.

We are quickly approaching our 1 year anniversary of being open. Though I started the groundwork in February 2014, we weren't fully operational until August 1 2014. It has been a very exciting year to say the least.
Going into business for yourself, is a very scary thought and should not be taken lightly. You can't expect to just wake up one day and say "I think I can do (...). The bank will love the idea, lend me all the money I need. Customers will be lined up, as if they have been waiting just for me to open this business." Sorry, but that's a fantasy, and business is "real life".
It takes a commitment from yourself, and your network(family, friends, partners/ colleagues). I do owe a debt of gratitude to my wife, for supporting my decision, and understanding the work that is involved, to keep the vision alive. As well, I have been blessed to be able to work alongside my dad, Mark Schleihauf, for the past year, as he has been able to provide knowledgeable advice, and wisdom. To both of you, Thank You.
We would like to thank all of our existing customers for their support and willingness to give us an opportunity. Thank you for making 1 year happen, and let's make the next 5 years, 15 years, 40 years a reality as well. Thank you in advance to all future customers, as we look forward to building a strong business relationship with you as well.
Friday September 19th, Impact Fire Protection Ltd., our family and friends will be joining CNIB for a Light the Night fundraising walk in Springbank Park, in London. This is near to us at Impact Fire Protection as my son was diagnosed at 5 months with Leber's Congenital Amaurosis. He is blind, and will always be as there is no corrective surgeries or eye wear that will improve his sight. As he is only 11 months old, we do not know to what extent his blindness is but he does react to great contrast of colours and light. Knowing that he does have some sight is extremely encouraging and lifts our spirits. The difficult part is when you are holding your baby boy and he is unable to see you smile at him and smile back.

CNIB comes in every couple of weeks to work with him, and us, to help strive to the best of his abilities. He will be supported by CNIB his entire life, from learning how to read braille, walk with his white cane, and pick out his own clothes as a child. To learning how to navigate through a sighted world, cook, pour a glass of milk and many, many more things that we take for granted everyday.

Please feel free to click on the Facebook link for further details and consider making any contributions.

Experience Matters

After close to 11 years of working and learning from great colleagues, I made the life choice that I wanted to start my own company. The decision was made easier when my dad was able to join me in my new adventure. He is the former President of Talbot Fire Protection Ltd., having owned and operated in St. Thomas for almost 9 years. He has been in the sprinkler trade for over 40 years starting on the road, working on the tools(like myself) and then moving into sales and manager positions at various companies. He has been involved in 3 previous start up companies, including his own, establishing each one as a prominent entity. As a second generation sprinkler fitter, and now entrepreneur, I can assure you that we have the experience to service your sprinkler equipment.

    President's Message

As the President of Impact Fire Protection Ltd., I want to keep you up to date on what we are doing in the community. I also want to keep you informed on other exciting news that we have to share.
